IEU POLICY FRAMEWORK

Complaints and academic appeals

Accessible routes to raise concerns and request fair review.

Resolution

Where appropriate, a student may first discuss a concern informally without losing the right to make a formal complaint.

Formal review

A published procedure should acknowledge receipt, use an impartial reviewer, define evidence and response steps, set decision times and provide a reasoned outcome.

Academic appeal grounds

Use published grounds such as procedural error, relevant new evidence or inconsistency with approved rules. Explain any limits on appeals about academic judgment.

External routes

Identify an external reviewer only after the institution’s legal status and applicable jurisdiction are verified.

Policy notice: This page summarizes a proposed framework and is not an active institutional policy or student procedure. A policy applies only when formally adopted and published by the authorized body. Cross-border and regulated activity requires local legal review.
