Public Evidence & Recognition
Find the source. Understand its scope. Verify the issuing authority.
A transparent approach to public claims
Quality assurance information is most useful when readers can open the original source of a rule, academic decision or external statement. IEU publishes an indexed set of regulations and quality documents to support that approach.
Institutional legal identity, a university-style trading name, internal review standards, an academic awarding agreement and an external accreditation decision are different categories of information. They should not be treated as interchangeable.
The sections below provide an evidence navigation route for students, collaborators and anyone checking IEU public claims.
Primary evidence sources
- Institutional governance documents explain structures and responsible functions.
- Academic policies explain the applicable requirements for assessments, credit, integrity, progression and student rights.
- Quality framework materials provide the methodology and categories for review and improvement.
- Programme records explain course or qualification information, including the identity of any confirmed awarding institution where applicable.
- External recognition decisions should be read from the issuer's own register or original decision record, with its scope and date.
A practical verification sequence
- Identify the precise claim: a policy, programme, awarding body, partnership, certificate or accreditation.
- Open the source document or issuing organisation's record rather than relying only on a copied logo or reference phrase.
- Check the named organisation, the relevant subject or programme, the stated scope, the issue date and any expiry or conditions.
- Treat reference frameworks and internal evaluation reports as distinct from third-party approvals.
- Where information is programme-specific, rely on the current programme record and original issuer information.
Standards, QUA and independent external recognition
A published evaluation framework can be useful for describing what is examined in an institutional or digital education review. A framework is not, by itself, a certificate issued to IEU.
If IEU refers to Quality & Unified Assessment (QUA) methodological resources, readers should understand that related-party or common-control arrangements are not equivalent to a genuinely independent external accreditation decision.
For IEU's current public relationship and external standards references, open the Academic Partnerships & Institutional Recognition page. External approvals should be presented there only with their authentic issuer and documented scope.
